The Accepted Way to Print Wedding Invitations
The wedding stationery plays an important role in all-wedding panning. The stationery is the principal means through which many guests get to hear of the wedding and receive formal notice to attend. But like all types of events, wedding stationery needs to be printed in an accepted way.
This article discusses some of the ways we will have to go about our wedding invitations so they meet the minimum standard required.
It has become accepted that the parents of the couple announce the wedding like this:
Mr. and Mrs. Steven Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Troy request the honor of your presence to witness the Holy Matrimony of their children, Joyce Traceman and Peter Kenny.
Aside from the invitation card, you may also have to consider the reception card. For many a time, the wedding and the reception are held at different locations. If this were the case, then you would have to enclose the reception card in the same envelope as the wedding invitation card.
The reply card enables guests to indicate whether they would be able to attend or not. This is a self addressed envelope or a postcard. Sometimes this card is used to receive information on how many people the invited guests would be coming along with and whether they have any preferences that should be taken care of.
There are no strict rules about the phrasing of the wedding invitation. Some people prefer to use "the honor of your presence" while others prefer "the pleasure of your company".
